At one end of Louisburg Square in Beacon Hill, Massachusetts, there's a statue of Christopher Columbus. At the other end is a statue of Aristides. Apparently, both statues were donated in the 1850s by a Greek who lived in one of the houses around the square. At present, the most famous resident is probably Senator John Kerry. He didn't appear to be home - I wonder if he would have accepted if I had offered to buy him a beer.
