Linna, Cameron, and I were invited by our friends Usha, Jeff, and Jaya to Colorado Springs over the long weekend to view the Colorado Balloon Classic. Strangely, this is the second hot air balloon launching I've been to this summer.

This shot was taken the night before the launch. Normally, they would do a "glo" where the balloons would be partially inflated and would glow against the night sky. But because of uncertain winds, they decided to simply do "candles" where the pilots would fire their burners in unison.

4 seconds of night photography! I love it, Ted. I have seen a hot-air balloon launch just once in my life and it was something I'll never forget. It was in the Pocono Mtns. while we were on vacation there for a week a couple falls ago.

The clouds are spectacular and I love the little stars. :)
